Remote Workstation Interface
Remote Workstations for Your Image Servers

360 Systems' Remote Workstation Interface is a software application that provides IP control of an Image Server from one or more workstations within a facility. The server’s graphic user interface and all server functions can be accessed using a remotely-located PC connected by Ethernet. The remote GUI is identical to that of the local Image Server screen.

A remote workstation can access one or more video channels of an Image Server to perform ingest, trimming, playlisting, traffic operations or monitoring of server activities. Full control for manual play-to-air is also available.

Applications include—

Control of an Image Server located in a machine room,

Ingest station for loading commercials and other content from tape

Edit station for trimming content

Building, editing and running playlists

Remote control of an Image Server located at a transmitter site (“evergreen” backup)

Access by engineering or management

Remote control of an Image Server for corporate or kiosk presentations

Image Server Remote Workstation Interface

The Remote Workstation Interface is an optional accessory for the Image Server. It may be part of the original purchase, or added at a later time. It consists of a CD-ROM carrying the Remote Workstation application for Windows 2000 and Windows XP computers. It self-installs using the normal Windows prompts.

A separate Remote Workstation option is needed for each Image Server; however, it is possible to install the software on a number of PCs. Each can then control an Image Server equipped for Remote Workstation capability.

Any Remote Workstation can take control of one (or more) Image Server video channels. All Workstations, as well as the local Image Server GUI, have equal priority, and each continually displays Image Server channel activity.

System Requirements

• PC with Windows XP or Windows 2000 installed.
• 6 MB is required on the computer’s hard disk, plus 64 MB RAM.
• The computer and Image Server 2000 must be connected to the same Ethernet network.
