General Description
Instant Replay is a self-contained hard disk recorder/player, designed to
replace multiple cart machines for playback of sound effects and music. It offers fully professional audio performance
with a 20Khz stereo bandwidth and 44.1KHz or 48KHz sampling rates. Digital I/O and a built-in sample rate converter
makes it easy for most digital audio devices to download audio files. An imbedded QWERTY keyboard performs titling,
and find-by-name/number operations.
Dolby AC-2 data compression may be selected for extended storage
times, or 16-bit linear recording may be used for true CD quality
audio. Instant Replay includes 360 Systems' D-NET file transfer
network, capable of moving audio files to and from other products
in the family. A parallel printer port supports a wide variety
of printing options to help organize recordings, including creating
paper keyboard overlays for Instant Replay's Hot-Keys.
Application
Instant Replay excels in applications requiring lightning fast access to audio
cuts in live performance and on-air situations such as:
- Playback of sound effects and music beds for morning zoo radio shows.
- Music and effects playback at sporting events.
- Sequential playback of audio cuts for theater performance.
- Remote broadcasts and touring productions.
- Sweetening and spot-cued effects for live teleproduction.
Transport Controls
Play, Stop and Record buttons duplicate analog tape transport functions. Additionally,
Pause and Loop are available as smaller keys, and a GPI input is provided for remote start.
Hot-KeysTM
Fifty Hot-Keys trigger individual audio files. Any recording can be mapped
to any key and each key will instantly restart audio on a second press.
