Senior Video Design Engineer - Hardware

Requirements:

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science and 4 years of experience in hardware design for multimedia and telecommunication applications. Must possess 1 year’s experience in each of the following: design and implementation of Analog and Digital Video hardware interface specifications; utilization of A/D and D/A converters and DSP hardware for video hardware design; use of ORCAD for schematic capture; use of ALLEGRO and PADS to manage PCB design; and design, development and implementation of FPGA, using VHDL and Xilinx tools.

Duties:

Design, develop, and test system and board-level architecture for analog and digital audio and video broadcast products. Design and implement modules and interface specifications for Analog Video, Analog Audio, High Speed Serial Digital Video, and Digital Audio, using A-D and D-A converters and DSP hardware. Utilize ORCAD to enter, modify and verify schematics for embedded analog and digital circuit design, and oversee PCB layout designs, using ALLEGRO and PADS. Perform high speed FPGA design and implementation, using VHDL and Xilinx tools. Create design documentation. Perform hardware debugging and troubleshooting to meet broadcast specifications, using high speed scopes and logic and bus analyzers. Ensure EMI and EMC compliance for North America and European markets.

Senior Hardware Design Engineer

360 Systems is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to design cutting-edge digital video circuits for a new generation of advanced professional broadcast products. The successful candidate will have experience with FPGA design and development, DSP hardware, A/D and D/A converters, and high-speed digital circuit design. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in the rapidly-expanding and exciting field of digital video.

The following are requirements:

• 5+ years of hardware design experience.
• A minimum of 2+ years experience in VHDL/FPGA design.
• A BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Detailed knowledge of schematic capture – ORCAD a plus.
• Proficient in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic/bus
 
analyzers.
• High-speed logic design, including an understanding of transmission line effects,   impedances, terminations, and EMC properties.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• The ability to transform requirements into working hardware.


The following skills are a plus:

• Architectural design experience.
• Digital video expertise, including High Definition (HD).
• Xilinx Foundation tools.
• PCI bus interface and design.
• Integration of intellectual property into FPGA designs.
• General experience with broadcast products.
• Advanced degree.

Professional broadcast experience is a major plus (although not a requirement), including an understanding of broadcast products and workflow, video servers, automation controllers, switchers, etc, along with a familiarity with terms such as VDCP, SDI, MXF, 601, SMPTE 259M, MOS, MPEG, etc.

General Requirements: A professional, can-do attitude; high productivity, with the ability to complete assigned tasks quickly and decisively, including appropriate documentation; the ability to work with closely with a small team of engineers to ensure the proper integration of all subsystems; a proven ability to accurately schedule and deliver professional-quality designs; the ability to work with manufacturing to quickly identify and fix bugs reported from the field. Senior Software Engineer (C++, Linux and Windows)

360 Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design advanced digital video products for the broadcast industry. These positions command competitive salaries and excellent benefits, plus a pleasant work environment at our Westlake Village, California headquarters.

Professional broadcast experience is a major plus, including an understanding of broadcast products, such as video servers and switchers. The position is to develop efficient, reliable software for professional broadcast products. C++ expertise in a real-time, multi-threaded environment is desired. Experience with both driver- and application-level C++ is required; experience with Linux and MS Windows is a major plus. This is a “hands-on” position that requires demonstrable success in the design of complex embedded applications. The candidate should have been a key designer of commercially-released products.

A significant subset of the following skills is also required:

• A minimum of 5+ years experience in hands-on C++ development.
• Real-time embedded C++ Linux software development.
• TCP/IP, XML, client/server development.
• Networking expertise a plus.
• Experience writing both drivers and multi-threaded applications in Windows and   Linux.
• Familiarity with terms such as VDCP, SDI, MXF, 601, SMPTE 259M, MOS,
  MPEG, etc.
• Experience with video compression and streaming.
• Broad experience with low-level PC hardware and architecture, including: Cache   memory management, Pentium/AMD capabilities, motherboard architecture, PCI,   IDE/ATA, and RAID.
•GUI design a plus, especially with TrollTech tools.
•A BS degree in Engineering or Computer Science is required.
•Advanced degree a plus.
